Some the participants were scouts from Sto Ovidio group and some were scouts from the Gulpilhares group.  The cyclists biked on one or more short rides of 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 KM (approximately 3.125, 3.75, 5, 6.25 and 7.5 miles respectively).  All in all, the tallied 253 KM (approximately 158 miles) for sarcoma awareness. They displayed posters at their meeting points that described the  dangers of sarcoma and the Virtual Bike Tour event itself. Team Sarcoma/Portugal had a sponsor for their T-Shirts and had coverage in the Portuguese press.
